Heritage is the brainchild of Jim Hewer - former Senior Master of Papplewick School, Ascot - one of the top independent boarding preparatory schools (IAPS) in the UK. Papplewick has a distinguished record of Scholarships and Common Entrance results leading to acceptance to some of the best senior schools in the country, such as Eton, Marlborough, Wellington, Rugby and Stowe.
The idea of Heritage grew out of Jim Hewer's thirteen years as a schoolmaster, during which time he developed a strong network of contacts in the independent schools' sector as well as a passionate belief in the value and merits of a boarding education. These contacts will enable students from abroad to experience the full benefits - and rigours - of the British educational system.
Heritage was created to act as a bridge between the top British independent schools and foreign families who demand the very best education for their children.
Jim is a product of the British Education system having been educated at Pinewood Prep School (IAPS) and then moving on to Marlborough College (HMC). Jim spent a year teaching at Melbourne Grammar School in Australia and then went on to do an education degree in Nottingham, following this with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Roehampton in London. After University Jim started his teaching career at Papplewick where he taught Geography and Physical Education to all pupils. This included preparing Scholars for their various entrance exams to schools such as Eton and Harrow and teaching the Common Entrance syllabus to senior pupils.
Jim was recognised for his leadership skills and his understanding of and empathy for boarding pupils by being appointed as Senior Master. As part of the Senior Management Team, Jim took responsibility for the pastoral side of the school and monitored the overall well-being of the pupils.
